At Abbey Stadium we have a huge selection of exercise classes. In fact, there are over 80 classes per week for yo to choose from.
From Zumba to Sh’bam, Yoga to Tap Dancing, Body Balance to Body Combat, below is a list to help you find a class that suits you.
AREA7 Ladies that lift – This class is for all levels and during the sessions you will d Barbell Strength Focus Training.
AREA7 Senior circuits –functional training outdoors – 7 bodily movements – helping people to move better.
ARE7 Perform – Members who want to push their level of performance and train towards specific goals, sports, or outcomes.
Aqua Fit – Water based aerobics class to music.
Beginners Tap dance – Beginners Tap dance, for those who are new to tap , you don’t need tap shoes it’s a great class to try before doing Tap class.
Body Attack – High-energy, fun and athletic workout focused on cardio fitness, stamina and agility. Combining athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats, you can burn up to 730 calories* during a workout.
Body Balance – BODYBALANCE ™ is a new generation yoga class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. You can expect to bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves, elements of Tai Chi and Pilates while an inspiring soundtrack plays in the background.
Body Combat – Total body martial arts workout that is designed to give you maximum calorie burn. Punch and kick your way to fitness with these high-energy non-contact martial arts workout videos. You’ll release stress, have a blast and feel like a champ.
Body Jam – Dance-based workout designed to get you moving fast and working your body. Taking inspiration from dancers all over the world, and mixing it up with House, Hip-hop, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Trap and all styles of electronic dance music, BODYJAM brings a dose of soul to your studio.
Body Pump – THE ORIGINAL BARBELL CLASS ™, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 400 calories.
Dynamic yoga – This is a Dynamic and Athletic form of Yoga which is based on the Ashtanga System.
GRIT Cardio – 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that improves cardiovascular fitness, increases speed and maximizes calorie burn. This workout uses a variety of body weight exercises and provides the challenge and intensity you need to get results fast.
GRIT Strength – 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups.
Keiser power zones – This indoor cycling class is an endurance based ride the intensity is easy to moderate which means no recovery is needed ,therefore , think of this class as a leisure ride which is also mainly seated.
Keiser ride – Keiser Ride’ is a high-intensity indoor cycling class to music on a stationary bike. You ride to the beat of the music and it combines cardio and endurance training in a 45-minute calorie-crunching session! Not only is it great for giving you all the cardiovascular gains, but it’s great at toning muscles to make you super strong. We climb, We power ride and we go fast this class is for all levels.
RPM – Group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun, low impact and you can burn up to 500 calories a session**. With great music pumping and the group cycling as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding.
Sh’bam – A fun-loving, insanely addictive dance workout. SH’BAM ™ is an ego-free zone – no dance experience required. All you need is a playful attitude and a cheeky smile so forget being a wallflower – even if you walk in thinking you can’t, you’ll walk out knowing you can.
Step – Step is an aerobic workout to great music using a step platform where you step up and down to the beat of the music this workout is fun and for all levels.
GRIT Plyo – LES MILLS GRIT™ Plyo is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) plyometric-based workout, designed to make you perform like an athlete. This workout uses a bench and combines explosive jumping exercises with agility training to increase explosiveness and to build a lean and athletic body.
Pilates – Form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being. Similar to Yoga, Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility.
Stretch – Stretch benefits both your body and your mind. Stretching daily has been shown to increase flexibility, decrease tension, relax the mind, and improve posture! Stretching may also lower the risk of fitness-related injury.
Tai Chi – A series of gentle physical exercises and stretches. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Tai chi is sometimes described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movement.
Tap dance – Tap dance, style of dance in which a dancer wearing shoes fitted with heel and toe taps sounds out audible beats by rhythmically striking the floor or any other hard surface.
Yoga Flow – General relaxation suitable for all levels.
Yin yoga – This is a stretch Yoga Class.
Velo beats – A cycle class that trains in multi cycling training zones where you ride to the rhythm of beat focusing on endurance, tempo and power suitable for all levels.
Zumba – Form of aerobic fitness exercise based on Latin American dance rhythms. Participants are taught some basic easy-to-learn dance movements.
Zumba gold – Lower-intensity version of the typical Zumba class and was designed to meet the anatomical, physiological and psychological needs of seniors. Perhaps Zumba Gold will provide a suitable option for older adults seeking alternative means of reaching their exercise goals.
Boxfit – Boxfit is a workout that predominantly Involves cardiovascular activity through boxing drills as well as strength training.
Senior circuits – A low to moderate circuit session for the over 50’s focusing on 7 functional bodily movements and involves some muscular endurance training this class helps you to move better and is for all levels.
Olympic lifting – This class will increase your Strength & Power, Flexibility & Mobility, Co Ordination and Self Discipline, and you will learn the fundamentals of safe and effective lifting techniques. You will be doing exercises such as Squat, deadlift Push Press Clean & Press.
Hyrox – HYROX combines both running & functional workout stations, where participants run 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times.
