Coming to abbey stadium
Work will soon begin on the refurbishment of the dry-side changing rooms at Abbey Stadium.
In partnership with Redditch Borough Council, we are undertaking improvement works to modernise the dry-side changing rooms and surrounding areas, helping us provide an even better experience for our customers, clubs and community groups.
The project will start on Monday 7 September and is expected to be completed in the new year, subject to construction progress.
The improvements will create refreshed facilities for Gym and Class users, Sports Hall users and those using our indoor activities including:
• A refurbishment of both male and female dry-side changing rooms, to include individual showers and changing cubicles, vanity units, hairdryers, upgraded lockers and improved seating and benches.
• Stairwell access by the Sports Hall.
These areas will not be accessible during this time and clear signage will be in place around the site to help direct customers.
We would like to reassure you that the Abbey Stadium will remain fully open throughout the refurbishment works and that all activities will continue as normal.
To allow the work to be completed safely, some temporary arrangements will be in place.
Sports Hall Access
Sports Hall users will need to enter and exit the Sports Hall via the rear fire door during the works.
For any sports hall classes or Sports Hall use please come to reception first to check-in and a member of staff will direct you to the Sports Hall.
Temporary Changing Rooms
From Monday 7 September, showers will remain available in the wet-side changing rooms. Two accessible private showers will also be available. Please ask at Reception for access.
During the week commencing 14 September, temporary changing facilities will be available at the back of Area 7 which will include showers and lockers. Toilets are available in the centre.
Car Parking
During the works, a number of car parking spaces will not be available at the back of the overflow car park.
Noise
There may be noise during this time, we will try our best to keep it at a minimum.
