At Abbey Stadium, health and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to support the whole community by providing programmes that help people feel stronger, healthier and more confident in their day‑to‑day lives. From Health Walks and Cancer Rehabilitation to Escape Pain and Live Well, we create a friendly, supportive environment for anyone looking to improve their physical or mental wellbeing.

Whether you are starting your fitness journey, recovering from illness or simply looking to stay active, our team is here to help you live a healthier, happier life. Please see below for some of the programmes we provide.


Health Walks

Wednesdays at 11.00am
Join us for a free, friendly and accessible weekly walk at the Abbey Track. This safe and welcoming session is supported by our two volunteers, who look forward to greeting everyone who attends.
You are welcome to arrive at any time, sign in with the volunteers and enjoy the track at your own pace. Whether you prefer to walk and talk, take a steady stroll, or challenge yourself by counting your laps, the session is open to all.
Whatever your walking speed or ability, you will be very welcome. Café and toilet facilities are available on site, making it an easy and enjoyable way to stay active.

cancer rehab

We are now accepting referrals into this programme.
If you are living with a cancer diagnosis or are currently in remission, we can offer support and guidance on the types of physical activity that can help improve your health. The right activity can make it easier for your body to prepare for surgery, manage treatment, and recover more effectively.
A Cancer Rehab–qualified exercise professional will:
Spend time understanding your current activity levels, goals, and any other important considerations
Create a personalised programme tailored to your needs
Provide ongoing support throughout your journey, including weekly check-ins if required
For £25.00, you will receive:
A 6‑week personalised exercise programme
Full PEAK gym membership, including access to classes and the pool

Live Well Be WEll


If you are currently living with any of the health conditions listed below and would like advice or guidance on the types of physical activity that can help improve your health, we can help. Health conditions supported include:
Overweight or obesity, Type 2 diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, High blood pressure, Depression, anxiety and stress, Asthma, Skeletal and muscular injuries, Seropositive HIV, Hypercholesterolemia, Hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.
A qualified exercise professional will:
Spend time with you to understand your current activity levels, your goals and any health conditions that need to be considered
Design a programme tailored to your needs
Provide support throughout your journey to help keep you on track
For £25.00, you will receive a 6‑week personalised exercise programme and full PEAK gym membership, including access to classes.

ESCAPE-pain

For people living with pain in the knee, hip or back
Escape‑Pain is a group rehabilitation programme designed for people living with joint pain. It combines education, coping strategies and structured exercise to help you:

Understand your condition
Learn simple, effective ways to manage your symptoms
Build confidence through a progressive exercise programme
Improve your ability to cope with pain in daily life

Programme details:
12 sessions over 6 weeks
Days: Wednesdays and Fridays
Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm
